Unorganised Presentations

I'm an organised person, so I usually keep on top of my workload. I've spent the past few weeks celebrating my 21st birthday. Did I need to have three weekends of celebrations? Probably not. As a result, I am slightly behind schedule. Last Monday, we were asked to prepare a presentation about a design firm; I had to investigate 74 Architects. My findings revealed their identity, location, projects, approach and ethos. My presentation was constructed the night before delivery. Consequently, I didn't practice and there was a high chance I'd mess up on the day. Fortunately, I used bullet-points on my slideshow, which provided prompts, helping me stay on track. Considering my lack of organisation; my presentation ran smoothly. If it was a formal submission, I doubt I would have been so last minute. However, this doesn't excuse my tardiness. It's not a crime to enjoy yourself and fall behind schedule sometimes, as long as you catch up. Researching 74 Architects allowed me to understand what I should look for when applying for work experience. Working for a firm with a similar approach and ethos to myself (as a designer) can be valuable and a learning opportunity. I believe that this task was put in place to encourage us to study the practices we were interested in before getting in contact with them.
